One of the many reasons why this is such a great performance is the way Shirley Manson obliterates the invisible barrier between audience and performer. She doesn’t do this in a punk, egalitarian way; rather she leaves her allocate space like a commando launching raids into enemy territory. Fantastic, and rather unsettling.
